Prez Yadav announces commencement of Constitution of Nepal 2072 (Update)

Sep 20, 2015- President Ram Baran Yadav has declared the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal 2072 amidst a special ceremony at CA Hall, New Baneshwor, and Kathmandu on Sunday. The Interim Constitution has been annulled with the promulgation of new constitution. 

President Ram Baran Yadav congratulated the people of Nepal for the new constitution. He said the nearly four-decade-long dream of Nepali people to write the new constitution through democratic process has been realised today. 

He hoped the new constitution will ensure a sustainable peace and political stability taking the nation on the path of social and economic prosperity.

President Yadav expressed his hopes that the republicanism with federalism and proportional representation will further develop in the coming days.

Stressing on need for unity among diversity, Prez Yadav said the new constitution will end all kinds of discrimination.

CA building all decked up for the new constitution
As the clock is ticking for formal unveiling of the new constitution by President Ram Baran Yadav, grand preparations have been made at the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in Naya Baneshwor, Kathmandu.

Many lawmakers have arrived at the CA in their ethnic cultural attires and a large number people have started thronging outside the CA building carrying the national flag.

The ex-lawmakers from previous Constitution Assembly that was dissolved in 2012 have also been invited to observe the historic occasion of constitution promulgation.

Meanwhile, the Naya Baneshwor area wears a different look today. Only few vehicles are plying on the Baneshwor road section, heavy presence of security personnel in riot-gear can be seen everywhere and a huge mass of people in anticipation of the new constitution can be seen around the Baneshwor area.

The Constitution Assembly has been decorated with flowers and garlands to mark the special day.

Bhaktapur, Nepal - June 19: The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur has published the results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) Examinations-2071 BS, a short while ago.

Examinations controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware said 47.43 per cent students passed under the regular stream. Last year’s SLC exam pass percentage was 43.92.

As per the results, 92 thousand 267 candidates have passed. Similarly, 21 thousand 247 have passed with distinction marks, 90 thousand 176 students with First Division marks, 76 thousand 482 with Second Division marks and 4,362 with Third Division marks.

The SLC results were announced by holding a news conference at the hall of the Department of Education at Sanothimi soon after the SLC Board meeting concluded.

Out of the 574 thousand 685 students who filled up the application forms for the exams, 453 thousand 038 took the exams. One hundred and forty five thousand 183 students appeared in the exam in the exempted category and 3,288 under the technical stream

Nepal SLC results to be published by end of June 2015

The Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi Bhaktapur has stated that the results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination will be published by this June end 2015.

Controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware said that there was no disruption on examining the answer scripts and result preparation.

He added that the devastating earthquake and several aftershocks have not affected the answer sheet checking and other internal preparations for publishing the results.

Controller Dware further said that answer sheets were being examined at different 64 centres while 11 centres have forwarded the answer sheets to the controller's office after completing the checking.

Asim Ghimire of Jhapa, who passed the School Living Certificate (SLC) exams with 93.87 percent, could be this year's SLC hero.

Ghimire, a student from Little Flower Boarding School in Birtamode, Jhapa, secured 751 marks out of 800, which is the highest score reported in the media so far.

Initially, some media reports projected Prasnna Nepal of Little Angels School, Kathmandu, as the board topper with 93.62 percent.

Other high scorers include Saru Shrestha of Bhaktapur's Gladstone Academy (93.50 percent), Sanjana Wagle of Shantibarsha English School, Tanahun (93.37) Saurabh Neupane of New Horizon School, Butwal (93.37) and Anchal Choudhary of Bidhya Sadan Boarding School, Birgunj (93.12)
